Professor Michael Katell

Fellow in Responsible Research & Innovation, Alan Turing Institute

Professor Michael Katell is Fellow in Responsible Research & Innovation at The Alan Turing Institute and a Visiting Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London. Professor Katell holds a doctorate from the University of Washington Information School in the United States, where, in addition to his graduate studies, he collaborated with the American Civil Liberties Union to produce the Algorithmic Equity Toolkit, a set of resources to promote community engagement with technology policy. Prior to his academic career, Professor Katell co-directed Columbia Legal Services in Seattle, a leading civil legal aid and anti-poverty firm in Washington (United States).
