The Hon. Dame Susan Glazebrook

The Honourable Dame Susan Glazebrook received her Bachelor of Laws as well as a Bachelor and Master of Arts from the University of Auckland. 


She worked as a partner in a large commercial law firm, she was a member of various commercial boards and government advisory committees and served as president of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association in 1998. 


Dame Glazebrook was appointed as Judge of the High Court of New Zealand in 2000 and she was appointed to the Court of Appeal in 2002. In 2012, she was appointed to the Supreme Court of New Zealand. 


During her time as a judge, Glazebrook has served as a member of the Advisory Council of Jurists for the Asia-Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions and chaired the Institute of Judicial Studies, the body responsible for judicial education in New Zealand, from 2007 to 2012. 


In 2021, she was the President of the International Association of Women Judges.
